Manual hydraulic stacker versus getting something semi electric, worth the upgrade for our size
I'm trying to make a decision that's been going back and forth in my head for a couple weeks now and I'd really appreciate some outside perspective from people who've actually used both types, we run a fairly small warehouse operation in Abu Dhabi and currently rely on a manual hydraulic stacker for lifting palletized goods onto our storage racks, which honestly works fine most of the time, but I've noticed our staff getting visibly more fatigued by the end of shifts, especially during busier stretches when they're pumping the handle repeatedly to lift heavier loads throughout the day, and that's made me start wondering if it's time to consider something semi electric instead, but I genuinely don't know if that upgrade actually makes sense for an operation our size or if it's more suited to bigger warehouses with significantly higher lifting volume than what we deal with daily, does anyone have experience with both types and can honestly say whether the semi electric option meaningfully reduces physical strain in a way that's worth the added cost, or is that more relevant for operations lifting much heavier or more frequent loads than what a smaller team like ours typically handles, while comparing options I looked into a few expert hydraulic stacker suppliers in Abu Dhabi just to understand pricing differences between manual and semi electric models, and the gap was bigger than I initially expected which is honestly what's making me hesitate here, does maintenance become noticeably more complicated once you add an electric component, like more frequent servicing or things that can go wrong compared to a purely manual mechanical system, also is battery reliability something people actually worry about day to day, or does that tend to be a non issue once you get into a regular charging routine, I don't want to invest in something more complex than we actually need just because fatigue has been a minor recurring issue lately, but I also don't want to keep pushing our team physically if there's a genuinely better solution that fits our scale without being excessive, so if anyone runs a similarly sized operation and made this exact switch, I'd really appreciate hearing whether it was actually worth it for you or if manual ended up being perfectly adequate after all.
